Foundation-Prep Transistion

At Albany Rise Primary School, we offer an extensive Transition program for your child. We believe, the more comfortable your child is with our school the easier the transition from Pre-School to School will be. Pre-School Visits

Each year we connect with our local Pre-schools to organise transitions visits. Pre-school students are invited to Albany Rise PS for transition sessions. These sessions are often run by the Albany Rise PS Foundation team, allow students to become familiar with their new school and begin to build the excitement of our Foundation program. Albany Rise PS runs a successful buddy program with our senior students and our new Foundation students, which begins at these transition sessions.

Term 4

Transition Sessions
In Term 4, Albany Rise PS runs fortnightly intensive transition sessions with enrolled Foundation students. Our sessions include literacy and numeracy activities, specialist activities (Physical Education, Music and Visual Art), technology activities and general school expectations. While the students are enjoying their sessions, parents are invited to join the Principal and key staff for information sessions. These cover different topics involving school and answer any questions you might have. It is also a great opportunity for parents to meet each other and join in with our school community.

Orientation Morning
This morning session involves the enrolled students coming into their future Foundation classroom room. We also invite the Year 6 Buddies to complete several activities with our newest students. This is a great time for the buddies to connect and form a bond before their official school life begins.
